Join WID, our friends and supporters at our annual gala, Ever Widening Circle, for an evening of entertainment provided by world-class performers, and celebrate disability culture and the 20th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act. Now in its 12th year, Grammy nominee and singing sensation Maria Muldaur will headline Ever Widening Circle 2010, supported by humorist Greg Walloch, on Friday, October 29, 2010, from 7:00-9:00 p.m. in the Oakland Marriott City Center's Jewett Ballroom, 1001 Broadway Oakland, CA.

Muldaur, a Bay Area resident and perhaps best known for her 1974 top 10 hit, "Midnight at the Oasis," is well versed in a dazzling range of genres that have spanned a more than four-decade long career. Humorist Greg Walloch will return this year as the opening act to charm the audience with more stories and perspectives on life (and cake). At intermission, all attendees will be treated to an array of delicious desserts, coffee and tea.

Pitch! remembers that one time when we all got high... with High Times Magazine.

"Pitch!" is a live storytelling event with a twist. Four fearless storytellers: Marc Charbonnet, Mike Albo, Craig Baldo, and Jess Wood perform in front of an audience while simultaneously pitching their story to a publishing world heavyweight! Rick Cusick of High Times Magazine takes the helm of the editor’s desk on November 16th. Our guest editor will “drop some wisdom” and maybe even a possible yes or no on the spot! Willing audience members are also invited to submit a rapid fire 15 second pitch. Your hosts Greg Walloch and Mark Allen keep it lively and irreverent! Will the performers have what it takes? Will you have what it takes? Witness amazing stories, insightful editorial commentary, and the intense process of being a writer more closely than you've ever imagined. Don't just sit there waiting for your big break... put down the bong... and "Pitch!"

"Pitch!" happens on the third Tuesday of every month at Under St. Marks Theater, 94 St. Mark's Place (between 1st and A), 7PM $5.

What people are saying about Greg Walloch and Mark Allen:

"It's not often that the typically rough-and-tumble atmosphere of the comedy stage softens enough to allow such moments of delicate human tenderness." - The New York Times

"Then... there's Mark Allen." - NPR
